Another day..
It’s been awhile since I’ve updated, life has been pretty busy.. We moved, and have been trying to get things straightened around with that, busy with my little energizer bunny that I call my son, and working.. Things hopefully will slow down here soon.
I am trying to get caught back up so that I can devote some more time to my Scentsy business, and I have some sewing projects in mind that I really need to tackle, and I am contemplating signing up to sell Visalus as well. I am also planning on setting up some coupon classes if anyone local is interested..
Last week I got some pretty great deals at the stores, I was able to get 3 bottles of children’s advil, 3 bottles of infants advil, two small pocket size notebooks, a package of construction paper, and some candy for $14 at Walgreens (saved $34!). I also got two games (price matched at WalMart from Toys R Us) for $21 and some change and saved myself nearly $100..love great TRU sales! I also was able to get 28 packages of 3.9oz Nestle Nesquik from Kroger for less than $3 after my coupons;)
The only really good deal I got this week were some crayola crayons 24ct for 15c at office max.. So I picked up 2 of those to put up for A when he gets to the point where he colors more 😉 I didn’t do much shopping this week, was much too busy with everything else..
A few things for you today
Hope everyone is having a great day, mine has been “so-so”.. We had court today for a debtors exam, for a judgement we won, which did not go so well. Looks like we’ll be making an appearance at the guy’s bankruptcy hearing whenever that is.
On a better note, I have a few things for you today.

I also ran across this post with a recipe for breakfast sandwiches, which look super easy, and delicious. Not that I am much of a breakfast eater during the week, but I try to grab something on the weekends [sometimes…]. I figure Nick and my son will like them, but I figure I’d also pass them on for the rest of you!

Moving On..
I was thinking I should post some of the househould cleaning products I use in my home. I try to use as much natural cleaning products at I can. I was cleaning one day, and I looked under my cabinet where I’d kept all my cleaning supplies..and I thought “there has got to be a better way…”. I ended up giving away/pitching several household chemical cleaners I’d bought from the stores. I really need to look into a better alternative to bleach though, that is one thing I haven’t quite been able to give up!
All Purpose Cleaning Spray
1/3 cup vinegar
3/4 cup warm water
1 T vegetable soap
8 drops eucalyptus oil
6 drops lavender oil
2 drops tea tree oil
Tub and Tile Cleaning Paste
If it begins to dry out, simply add a few drops of water and stir well.
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup vegetable soap
1 T distilled water
1 T vinegar
20 drops essential oil blend of choice (Citrus oils make a great choice for this as they are effective de-greasers.)
Mix together the soda and soap. Add the water and essential oils. When thoroughly combined, stir in the vinegar. The mixture may foam a little. Scoop into a clean jar, cap and label.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner
1 cup vinegar
3 T vegetable soap
25 drops tea tree oil
Combine in the squirt bottle and shake well. For an especially dirty toilet, sprinkle baking soda on first, allow to sit a couple of minutes, then follow with this cleaner

I have a decent amount of laundry detergent, but I also just recently made my own to try out on my cloth diapers, and I imagine it will get used as well on my clothes at some point too. The recipe was given to me on facebook, but google will provide more info on it if you want to look into it.
Use 1/3 bar of Fels Naptha soap
1/2 C Borax
1/2 C Washing Soda
Mix in 2qt. boiling water until melted. Then add the 2qts water to a bucket and add enough water to make 2 gallons.
What I did was boiled water on the stove, melted the soap, and then poured that in my bucket, then added the Borax and Washing Soda, and then the rest of the water. I decided to try some Dr. Bronner’s bar soap instead, but it didn’t turn out quite like I think it was supposed to. From what I’ve read it is supposed to be “gel-like”, but mine isn’t… I’ll have to investigate that further.
I have a friend who uses homemade laundry soap 100% of the time, and she says it works great, and saves money for her family.

First Post!
I’ve finally decided to dive into the blogging world! I am a full time work out of the home to my now 17 month old son, Aiden. He is my pride and joy. I am engaged to my son’s dad, and we share our house with two dogs. After having our son, we were looking at ways to cut some of our expenses, as the biggest thing you hear about having kids is…”it’s expensive!”. We chose to cloth diaper our son, which has not only saved us money, but has also saved us from him having rashes, that we discovered he gets when wearing disposables. I am a HUGE supporter of cloth diapering, and tell everyone I know about it! Even Nick tells people about it! He’s a great sport about the cloth diapering, and has even said he couldn’t imagine using disposables (I think he’s more thrilled about saving $$ though :)]
I’m also a big supporter of supporting Work At Home Mom’s [aka WAHM’s]. I love looking around on Etsy, and even have several pages I’ve “liked” on facebook that I’ve found several wonderful things on, from cloth diapers, to household items. It’s hard to curb spending sometimes when you find such great things! 🙂
Couponing is another big factor for us to save money. I enjoy watching Extreme Couponing, but there have been some episodes that have not been a favorite of mine. I don’t have huge stockpiles of mustard, but I do enjoy saving money on my grocery bill, and if something IS a good enough deal, I will stock up on things that I know will get used in my family. But buying a hundred bottles of mustard, even if it was free, would serve pointless to my family. I’m not sure we’d even use a hundred bottles in our lifetime. [We’re not big mustard eaters…].
I’ll try to keep up at this blogging thing, posting deals, ways to save money, great WAHM items, etc. from time to time! I hope you’ll enjoy what I do post! Hopefully I can keep up, working full time outside of the home, and keeping up with my son keeps me pretty busy these days [I wouldn’t have it any other way with my son though, can’t imagine life without the little guy!]
